We’re busy making final preparations for Saturday’s cookoff at Becker Vineyards. We’ll feature great goodie bags with free wine tasting for the cooks, live music, large crowds, People’s Choice competition, generous sponsor, and a hard—working charity, Habitat For Humanity. Please bring giveaway chili if you have some because we’ll be selling many tasting cups. If you don’t have any throwdown, please bring an extra pot. We’ll bring some chili for you to give away.

There’s no space for motorhomes but there is an RV park and a motel nearby. If you need details, please call me at 512-567-2835. While you’re in the area, nearby Fredericksburg is a great attraction with lots of restaurants and shops.

Saturday’s schedule will be as follows:

9:00 registration
10:30 cooks’ meeting
11:30 – 1:30 showmanship
2:00 chili turn in

RESULTS and UPCOMINGS

“The 2 day Garland Elks/ Dam Pod CCO has come and now gone. As is most Chili cook offs in Texas it was very hot and dry.

The chili cooks gathered under the big Pecan trees and cook in the heat.

Stoves went to the top 3 chilies, top show and top Junior.

I want to thank the cooks who braved the heat to get points and support the Elks and DAM POD.
