Rose City 29th annual CCO had one of the largest crowds ever at Gander Mountain, Arts & Crafts vendors set up amongst the cooks, 44 cooks and 10 Show teams with a high participation vying for the People's Choice award. Even with all the extra chili being prepared and served, and with the huge public crowds coming out to enjoy the weather and a bowl of red, we literally ran out of everything, from over 550 tasting cups, spoons and all the chili pots were empty. A big thank you to Doris Greenlees, Spud Griffin (in training) and Denning Key for running the preliminary round, to James Espinosa for the tallying crew and a special "Thank You - We Appreciate You" to Bruce Young for his willingness to take charge of the Wings contest at the last minute. We are excited to introduce Brooke Longino and her dedication to teaching her children to cook chili and willingness to take charge of our Junior competition. Also thanks to Spud Griffin for running the Beans table.

“28th SIGHTFEST is now History, but the melody lingers on. What a rip roaring good time was had by all at Giddy Ups, even though many of us had heavy hearts. We will miss our announcer and good friend J.J. McMillan. He brought liveliness to our party and had a good time doing it. Because of forthcoming rain, we did not want to have a repeat of October, so we parked most everyone on the road, thereby parking some in the next county, pert nigh. Good sports they were and they did and never complained. Thank you for that. Didn't have to eat all of the wonderful stewand cornbread, because a whole bunch of us were there. Along with that, we had "Company Beer", so folks were full and happy. 72 Good folks came and cooked on Saturday.
