NEWS
What a weekend. First, we thought we might find some cooler weather in Cheyenne. I even brought a light jacket. The weather had a surprise in store for us. Saturday and Sunday, it was 45-46 degrees, windy, and raining. Yuck.
The weather must have fit my chili, however. I had a great weekend. I won the Saturday ICS cookoff and was second in CASI. On Sunday, I won CASI. Wow! I love luck.
RESULTS and UPCOMINGS
“The Festival on the Trails celebrates the unique history of Gardner, KS where the Sante Fe, Oregon and California trails met and then separated to the old west. In a true "shoot-out," there was a three-way tie for first place with first time CASI cook, Chris Fox of Gardner winning the tie breaker. A torrential rain and strong winds didn't dampen the cooks' spirits as they held on to their canopies and cook stoves and continued to cook.
