“The Highland Lakes Pod would like to invite all you chiliheads to Kingsland, TX, New Years weekend, to celebrate the New Year doing what we do best cooking chili, supporting our charities and having fun. We start the weekend off on New Years Eve with barbecue buns at 6:30 p.m.(furnished by HLP). The dance starts at 8 p.m. - $7.30 pp (for chili cooks). Champagne, black eyed peas and cornbread at midnight. BYOB or beer-setups will be available. This is a fun party. Dress up or nice casual dress is good. On Thursday, Jan. 1st biscuits and gravy at 9 a.m., black eyed pea turn in at noon $5 (please note changed to Thursday instead of Friday), chili turn in at 2 p.m. $15 (chili grind only), cooks party (furnished by the American Legion), games and dominoes. On Friday, breakfast (eggs,bacon, sausage, biscuits and etc.) at 9 a.m., chili at 2 p.m.$15 (chili grind only), pot luck dinner, dominoes, games and more. Wear your favorite Pajama's, relax and have fun. On Saturday, breakfast at 9 a.m. (breakfast tacos and etc.), chili at 2 p.m. $15 (chili grind only), pot luck for dinner and more games and fun. Wear your PJ's again if you want, relax and have fun. If you have not been to this CCO....it is a relaxing fun packed weekend. The Legion has a nice warm facility for us to have our fellowship.
