NEWS

It was a sad weekend in the chili world with the loss of two cooks known to many. After an improvement in his condition, Richard King passed on Friday evening and Jack Ware succumbed to Parkinson’s Disease on Saturday. Please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.

RESULTS and UPCOMINGS

“We had a great day at the 1st Rahr & Son’s CCO held in Fort Worth on Saturday. The weather was great (70 degrees on January 31st) and we had around 500 folks in attendance. We raised $1,000 for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. A big thanks to everyone involved in making this happen. And now, the winners:

Thank you and congratulations to Jerry Hunt and George French for the Louisiana State Championship in Minden last Saturday. What a wonderful job they did making everyone feel comfortable and appreciated as 102 cooks competed in the CASI division. There was also a local competition and loads of public. (Alan)
