Sorry, I tried all day yesterday to publish but Internet problems prevented it. Ah, life in the country.

“We like to recognize the first person from a twelve-point state to qualify on points. This year's honoree is Jean Barkley. I guess that answers the question, does it carry over to TICC? Jean's sixth place would seem to say, "yes".
Now, technically, when Jean's points were recorded, she was already qualified for the MMX TICC. So I don't think she'll mind if we also recognize Sue Caffey who qualified the following day.
Congratulations to both.” Bill Pierson

Please join us for the first annual chili cookoff at the Rattlesnake Inn in Florence, Texas this Saturday. There will be a silent auction and live music on Saturday night. The Rattlesnake Inn is Williamson County’s oldest honky-tonk and they have a great menu. We’ll be raising funds for the Brown Santa program.

COOKOFF STORIES
You are invited to send your cookoff stories to share with our readers to pepperdean@ctesc.net.
“Ok, now that Terlingua is behind us, the next Chili Party is in Indiana. Come up and enjoy a great CCO, and ring in the New Year with your chili family. This is an indoor, closed to the public, private CASI chili cookoff. This event will be hosted by the Indiana Pepper Pod and held at the Country Inn and Suites. Special room rate of $79.00, with an entry fee of $35.00. Tables and chairs provided, dinner and a special adult toasting beverage at midnight. Please RSVP to Darin flashoverchili@sbcglobal.net 317-319-4961 or Tonya crazyladychili@sbcglobal.net 317-319-4962. We need to get a confirmed head count for the food and tables. So, if you are planning on coming please let us know as soon as possible. For hotel room reservations call the hotel at 317-821-1100 and use the code word "chili" for the special rate. The Hotel/Cookoff site is only 10 min from the airport and there is a free hotel shuttle. What a great way to ring in 2010...chili, good friends, and a great time! By the way, the winner's room will be comp'ed by the hotel - an even better reason to come!
Hope to see ya'll in Indiana!” Tonya Jester
