RESULTS and UPCOMINGS

“We had a great weekend in Irving for the 31st Annual Top of Texas Kickoff Cookoff! The weather held off (no rain and comfortable temps) and we had plenty of public chili judges. We also had a bit of history made as Dr. Ray Calhoun became the first repeat winner in 31 years! Way to go, Doc! We also presented our annual pod “Of The Year” awards and the winners were:

Chilihead of the Year: Gary Brignon
Showmanship Team of the Year: Bull Rush – Ginny Williams
Rookie of the Year: Marsha Graham

I would like to thank everyone involved (table monitors Beth Baxter, Babs Johnson, Johnnie Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan), Kelly Brignon and her Tally Crew, Head Show Judge Marsha Graham and the Irving Elk’s Lodge for providing the palate cleansers and beverage runners. Also, our generous sponsors who help make this event a success! It has been my honor to serve as Great Pepper this year and I thank everyone in the Pod who made this happen!
