China Diver Queen Guo Jing Jing Infrared Photos

Guo Jing Jing Infrared

Technology didn't just ease our everyday life, but also offer an opportunity to immoral people to fulfill their ugly wishes. Female stars always have to be aware of crazy fans and photographers, who may try to lay a hand on their skin unexpectedly or take photos of their private parts from various angle. But a camera/recorder with an infrared filter is the worst to encounter.

A 10-minute (full version 2 hours) clip of Olympic female divers who got snapped with an infrared filter camera is circulating on the internet. It's not a normal clip, but an immoral clip---divers' body and private parts are visible because of this special filter. Victims include well known Chinese diver Guo Jing Jing, her partner Wu Ming Xia, and other female divers from other countries (Russia, Mexico, Australia, etc.)

In fact, this clip was on the internet last year but was quickly removed by the Chinese government. It's unknown who put it up again this time.

Female stars all express their concerns and worries. Once photographed while changing clothes, Gillian Chung @ Twins pays her sympathy to the victims in the clip. "It's crazy. Hope those people will stop hurting people like that," the singer says.

Taiwanese star Rainie Yang and Hong Kong singer Elanne Kong point the incident is freaky. "I believe not only female stars are afraid of being photographed secretly like this, even guys would be afraid," Rainie says.

TVB actress Christine Ng and Sharon Chan believe it should be stopped. "Very angry! Females can't be violated like this!" They express it's not related to the level of sexiness someone dressed since your body is clearly visible under that type of filter no matter how many layers of clothes someone put on.

Expert detective Cheung Tat Wai expresses a decade ago there are already people viewing females' private parts using this technology. It only requires an infrared option from the camera/recorder and an infrared filter to be placed in front of the lens. "A simple procedure that requires no special technique," he says. He points out this technology is hard to go through clothes made with pure cotton, but can easily go through nylon and swimwear. "Infrared filter is dark-colored and sometimes it looks like a mirror. Ladies should be careful when they see someone holding up a camera/recorder with that type of filter on it," he adds.

JJ Lin I Am world Concert Tour in Beijing

JJ Lin launched his “I AM” World Concert Tour in Beijing on the 21st. Nearly 10,000 fans packed the Capital Indoor Stadium to see him perform in person, as well as a glimpse at his new bod. He entertained the audience with 33 songs, including a medley similar to the one performed at this year’s Golden Melody Awards. The concert started off with an impressive video created with the “Light Stage” technology -- a single grain of sand turned into ten thousands to form the shape of JJ Lin. The figure then walked across a desert and shook the crowd with a roar.

JJ Lin made a total of seven costume changes, including a Star Wars-inspired outfit made out of 1000 LED bulbs. He joked, “Singing and dancing at the same time, along with a body full of sweat, it's not that I’m afraid to die, but the staff tested it out for a long time to check for electrical leakage.” JJ also wore a lampshade-like head piece with one of his costumes. A metal part from the “shade” cut his manager’s nose badly during the rehearsals, which might possibly explain his blood-splashed white outfit...

Angelababy in love with her boyfriend Huang Xiao Ming

Angela baby

Their relationship has been kept low-profiled; earlier, Angelababy had secretly visited Huang Xiao Ming at a studio in mainland were she was secretly photographed. Yesterday, the couple had expressed their feelings using Weibo, where Xiao Ming had used 5 pieces of chocolate to express his love 'You are in my heart' for Angelababy, who commented on William Chan's silence, that 'Silence is a form of consent.'

Being a lead actress, Angelbaby had developed pimples from all the stress. With regards to the photographs, she had little comments, only hoping for some personal space from everyone. She does not blame anyone, and she would continue to be strong, and not give up love just because she is experiencing stress at work.

Rejects being called Mrs. Huang

Last night, Angelababy was in Shenzhen as a guest of honour with many other stars. Clad in a black dress, she was full of smiles despite her pimples, which was unknown if the cause was by relationship or work. When questioned about the photographs showing her secret visit to the studio, Angelababy had little comments and hoped for some personal space. She was then asked if she could be addressed as Mrs. Huang she became embarrassed, replying that Angelababy was still more appropriate as it is 'friendlier'. She also admitted that there was a lot external pressure to bear, which she had problems tackling, and therefore needing more personal space.

Xiao Ming expresses his love, 'You are in my heart'

With regards to Xiao Ming's post expressing his love for her, she insisted that they were not dating on Weibo, but the media's over-sensitivity. And regarding her own post saying 'Got house but not being able to return to it', she replied that someone(indirectly referring to Xiao Ming?) had offered her shelter that night. Angelababy then clarified that she was referring to a female friend, never did she thought that people would misunderstand her words. Now she would be afraid to add fuel to the fire when using Weibo. When asked if 'Spongecake' referred to Xiao Ming, all she could do was laughed embarrassedly but did not give a proper reply.

Praised boyfriend for providing a sense of sercurity

Xiao Ming had once mentioned that he was possessive to which Angelababy replied, "Xiao Ming is a great guy; he's true to people." Does he get 100 points? "After getting to know him, I find that someone like him is hard to come by, he does not put on any airs and even protects those around him" Xiao Ming had introduced her to director Chen Kai Ge, which she refused to comment on. She added that she did not wish to mention anything with regards to Xiao Ming. She was then questioned if she was afraid of being labelled a liar, which she did not know how to respond. Xiao Ming had not asked her to 'match his words' and all she wanted to do now was to work.

It appears that her love life was very stable, to which she responded that she was now happy, and would not comment further on her love life, to prevent further misunderstandings which would only cause more stress. When asked if she would give up her love life, she replied that she would remain strong and thanked everyone who cared.

William's lips are sealed

After the photo was leaked out, the couple had individually expressed on Weibo. Angelababy had said, "I thought if I covered my eyes, then I would be blinded from the Earth. I may be able to deceive my eyes but I would never deceived my soul." And Xiao Ming had said "Life is full of ups and down. The one who only thinks for himself, would end up in hell. The one who thinks for others, would end up in heaven. Happiness would never abandon those people who helps others!"

News of her pregnancy was first leaked out by the press in November last year. Zhao's subsequent absence in the movie promotions of 14 Blades set tongues wagging and confirmed her pregnancy rumours.

According to a netizen who was at Gleneagles Hospital undergoing a body checkup, Zhao reportedly underwent a caesarean operation on Sunday night at 11pm and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The 34-year-old was accompanied by her Chinese property tycoon husband, Huang Youlong, all night.

China Actress Zhang Zi Yi returned at New Year Party

Zhang Zi Yi

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has returned to the public eye at a New Year’s party for Chinese entertainment industry professionals in Beijing on January 31 after a a personal scandal last month.

Zhang cracked a smile when she was invited onstage at the party for a formal champagne toast alongside veteran actresses Yu Lan and Xu Fan. Most of the time, Zhang seemed in low spirits and spoke with emotional overtones, saying, “It is so not easy in the movie industry,” according to a “Beijing News” report.

The party was jointly organized by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and the movie channel of China Central Television. Other big stars included actors Yan Ni, Hao Lei, Zhang Yuqi and pop singers Alan Tam and Li Yuchun.

Zhang was involved in a scandal involving money, friendship and a love affair in January and was later questioned for allegedly not fulfilling donation promises to help those affected by the Sichuan earthquake in 2008.

The actress had quit her roles as the producer and lead actress of the upcoming film “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” last week, which roused widespread speculation that her action could have resulted from her recent problems.

Chow Yun Fat film Confusius beat Avatar

Chow Yun Fat

Friday marks the last day of screenings of the non-3D version of Golden Globe-winning blockbuster Avatar in China. The pulling of the movie ahead of schedule has provoked speculation that the decision was to make way for domestic films, an accusation denied by film authorities.

A manager of the China Film Stellar Theater Chain, a company in charge of film distribution under the China Film Group, confirmed Wednesday that cinemas across the country will stop screening the non-3D version of the film from Saturday, the Economic Observer Newspaper reported.

Avatar had been showing on 2,500 screens – a third on 3D and IMAX screens, while the remaining two-thirds were on regular screens, which cost an average of 30 to 40 yuan a ticket, half the price of a 3D ticket. IMAX tickets, however, at 130 to 150 yuan, have been criticized as too expensive for many Chinese moviegoers.

According to Tong Gang, director of the China Film Bureau, the box office revenue of the non-3D version of Avatar only accounts for one third of total receipts nationwide, which reached more than 522 million yuan ($76 million) as of January 17, surpassing last year’s 2012 and Transformers 2 and becoming the biggest-grossing film in Chinese history.

A torrent of speculation ensued after a Hong Kong newspaper first reported the plan to pull the film, which is a global hit. Some media indicated that the decision obeyed instructions from China’s film authorities and was apparently aimed at reducing competition for homegrown films ahead of the nation’s biggest holiday season, including Confucius, a biopic of the Chinese philosopher, which opens tomorrow.

Zhang Hongsen, deputy director of the China Film Bureau, denied Wednesday that it was forcing the box office smash Avatar off local cinema screens, saying the move to take down the non- 3D version was a commercial decision.

“The rumor that Avatar was displaced by Confucius is maybe related to a time coincidence,” Zhang said. “There ought not to be any conflict as Confucius has no 3D version.”

Gao Jun, deputy general manager of the New Film Association, another theater chain under the China Film Croup, explained that the attendance rate of the non-3D version dropped sharply since last week, and a new film might naturally replace it.

The 3D and IMAX versions of Avatar, which contributed half of the box office takings in cinemas of the association, will continue to be screened due to their strong performance, Gao said, without giving an exact closing date. The original running schedule of Avatar, from January 4 to February 28, remains unchanged on China Film Croup’s website.

Liu Hui, general assistant manager at UME International Cineplex, told the Global Times that the company received a notice from the China Film Stellar Theater Chain.

According to Liu, the non-3D version has only contributed 0.8 percent to the film’s total revenue at UME theaters, while the 3D big-screen version accounts for 72 percent and the ordinary 3D format contributed 27.2 percent.

“It’s reasonable that the chain adjust the screening schedule according to the box office revenue of a movie,” Liu said. “If the non-3D Avatar gives way to other movies, potential losses could be avoided.”

UME has three five-star cinemas in Beijing and is one of the cinema companies that joined the China Film Stellar Theater Chain.

Liu, however, conceded that it is a rare move by the chain to require its cinemas to abruptly stop screening a movie.

The explanation by the theater chains is not being bought by moviegoers. “Most Chinese cities do not have well-equipped cinemas for 3D films. Where should the movie-goers turn to after the 2D version of Avatar stops screening?” a Web user said on sina.com, China’s largest Internet portal.

“Audiences will be attracted to the cinema if the movie Confucius turns out to be an excellent choice,” another user said. “It’s a pity that the local films rely on this method to compete with Hollywood.”

One user even called for a boycott of Confucius.

The Xinhua News Agency reported earlier this month that Confucius would open with 2,500 copies, making it a national record. China Film Group is also one of the major investors in the movie.

The Associated Press criticized that China remains highly protective of its domestic film industry, allowing only 20 foreign films into the Chinese market each year.

Li Daoxin, a professor in the School of Arts at Peking University, said that to frame the screening span for a movie wouldn’t be beneficial to the film industry in China, although locally produced films deserve a favorable environment and to be protected.

Liu Hui, however, expressed support for the move. “China Film Group is the distributor of both films. So they could make their decision. And when foreign movies constitute a monopoly in the movie market, we should provide some space for homemade ones,” Liu said.

Gao Jun suggested that China opening more theaters would be a solution to the fierce competition. The number of screens should be 15,000 to 20,000, he said

Latest official statistics show that the number of screens on the Chinese mainland reached 4,723 by 2009, and gross annual box office returns last year surpassed 6.2 billion yuan, up almost 43 percent from the previous year.

Shu Qi and Zhang Zi Yi to write on each other’s nude chests?

shuqi

HONG KONG: Taiwanese actress Shu Qi has turned down a role in Chinese star Zhang Ziyi’s English movie “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan”.

Based on a novel by Lisa See, “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” is jointly produced by Zhang, Wendy Deng, wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Florence Sloan, wife of MGM chairman Harry Sloan, and also stars the Chinese actress.

The movie tells a story about a community of women with bound feet living in a remote Hunan province seeking companionship from one another. As they developed close friendships, the women developed a secretive Nu Shu language as a form of communication and to keep their secrets from the men.

In the film, Snow Flower, who was supposed to be played by Shu Qi, develops a lifelong friendship with Lily (Zhang) and there is a nude scene which shows them writing on each other’s chest in the Nu Shu.

Though baring all is nothing new to Shu Qi, a former soft-porn actress, she reportedly turned down the role because of the scene.

The Taiwanese star, who started her career in soft porn films, proved herself to be a credible actress after winning the Best Actress Golden Horse Award in 2005 and has no intentions of stripping unless she is really attracted to the script.

Hopefully, Shu Qi will not regret her decision.

Shu Qi famously rejected a role in Lee Ang’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, which later went to Zhang and catapulted her to international fame.

Zhang is said to be disappointed with Shu Qi’s decision and is now looking for an actress to replace her.

The film will be helmed by “Joy Luck Club” director Wayne Wang and shooting is expected to begin early next year in China. – CNA/fa

Gong Li wouldn’t reveal bra cup size

gong li

Beijing – Actress Gong Li has become the new face of a local lingerie brand but the one question she will not answer is: What is her bra cup size?

Despite Sunday’s early snowfall, brought on by cloud seeding, and freezing cold, she wore a low-cut gown the brand, Aimer, made for her at the opening of China Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 in Beijing.

Her ample breasts were a hot topic when she starred in 2006’s Curse Of The Golden Flower and it was Aimer which created the bras the female cast wore in the movie.

On Sunday, those famous breasts appeared to have shrunk, Ming Pao Daily reported, but they still provided buzz.

Asked by a male reporter for her secret to firm breasts, Gong, 43, said: ‘This… I can’t say.’

‘What is your bra cup size?’ a female reporter then asked, to which the actress replied: ‘This gown is custom-designed for me. The designer will know that.’

She will appear opposite John Cusack and Chow Yun Fat in Shanghai, a movie set in World War II that is slated for an Asian release this year.

Talks of Stephen Chow's retirement dispelled

stephen chow

Following the resignation of many close partners and friends from his company, the exclusive spokesperson for Stephen Chow, Wei Dasen, announced his coming resignation a few days ago. As Chow recently rejected the opportunity to direct and act in the Hollywood production of The Green Hornet, talk is that the famous comedian might be retiring soon to concentrate on his property business.

As Chow's spokesperson, Wei made an official press announcement a few days ago that his resignation will take effect from 15 August onwards. Wei also stated that he will concentrate on building up his new career. The recent departure of his many close partners sparked off rumours of Chow's retirement plans.

As he is still Chow's spokesperson, Wei stepped forth and dispelled the rumours, "Everyone please do not worry. Stephen will not change careers and is currently discussing about an animated film for CJ7 with other companies. This can also be considered as one of his future work plans. Stephen is also currently in America discussing about some movies. How can he be retiring or changing professions?"

Wei continued to reveal that the Chinese star has been busy with his booming property business. Apart from retirement speculations, the media also reported that Chow's partners have left the company due to various disputes at work.
