This is the 3rd cookoff in the Bob Conley Memorial Challenge here in the Tyler area. David Lake is in the lead with 5 points, Tammy Russell, Mike Klade and Jerry Hunt are next with 4 points each and Kay Lefler, Diana Klade and Bear Reynolds with 3 points each. Steven Spencer, Doris Greenlees. Sherry Stuckey and Spud Griffin all have 2 points.” Blu Daniels
“ST CHARLES IL—Last Saturday, Mar 13 was the first local cookoff we've had since October. Boy, it was good to get back behind the stove. (And be reminded I didn't clean it over the winter.) There were several cooks looking for their first point of the year, one of which was winner Scott Barrett. Scott is the husband of current ICS Champion, Maureen Barrett, so the natural question to Scott, was he using Maureen's recipe? The surprise answer was, "no, it was just something he mixed up that day." Many of us spend hours researching, refining, re-inventing, and re-tooling our recipes, and he mixes something up that day and wins first place. I don't know if this technique will catch on, but that boy sure has a knack. The rest of the winners:

“42 Tournament at Texas Men's State
Registration will be 3-5 on Friday.
Drawing for teams will be between 6:15-6:30 before Cook's Supper.
Tournament will start at 7:30. The first round will end at approximately 10:30-11:00 on Friday night.
The second and/or final round will start immediately after Pot Luck dinner an Saturday night.
