“Another reminder to those with the Roundtoit disease. Been meaning to "get around to" sending in your Cooks Register information in? The deadline to be assured your information gets in the book is applications postmarked August 20th. Did not receive a form? Contact Debbie Eiland Turner at goatgapgazette@sbcglobal.net or 972-351-0022. The Cooks Register is the "Social Directory of the Chili World" which list names and addresses of cooks and friends, plus a whole lot more information for cooks.
Bought a book last time, but don't one this time around? You might want to reconcider since changes and additions were made to just about every page. Please check your listing information for changes or additions for e-mail addresses, cell phone number and work numbers. These are what changes the most. If I know the information is correct, your address information will still be listed, so take this change to make corrections.” (Debbie Turner)
“We wanted to let everyone know that Donn Shands is in the hospital. Will keep everyone updated as soon as we have more information.” (Sherrie Davis)

“Come to Gander Mountain on Friday and Saturday, August 22nd and 23rd for a great time in Corsicana. If you are traveling I-45 South, allow an extra 5 minutes for a teeny weeny detour. You’ll take the scenic route (thanks to TX Dot) and make a small loop around to get to Gander. The exit 229 is temporarily closed so take the next exit, Exit 228B Frontage Road (about 7/10 mile further south), turn right and follow the TX Dot signs back around to Hwy 287. Go under the I-45 bridge and then you’re back on track – turn right (south) on Corsicana Crossings Blvd. If you traveling northbound on I-45 all is ok – take the Exit 229. Turn in Friday night at 8pm and Saturday at 1pm. Cook’s party Friday night. I know there are a lot of cute and talented Chili-Dawgs out there so get those pets ready to enter a contest for the Smallest, Biggest, Best Dressed, Best Trick, and Pet / Owner Look-alike. There will be a special appearance by Bill McFarlin and his three talented canines, Star, Maggie, and Lucille. Bill and Star are among the final six contestants in the “Greatest American Dog”. Come early and stay late for all the fun. Gander Mtn. has plenty of paved parking for your RVs (dry camping) or if you prefer, spend the night at one of hotels conveniently located within a couple of minutes of the cooksite! For more info, call Kay Lefler 972-646-5159 or 972-872-2297, klefler@gaf.com.” (Kay Lefler)
