“LeeRoy Childress' Mom passed away yesterday (Monday) afternoon in the hospital in Lubbock after a home fire accident. Her name was Edith Mae Childress. She lived in Memphis, TX There will be graveside services on Thur at 2:00 PM at the Memphis Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be sent to Patsy's CCO for Gifts of Hope, PO Box 1323, Midland, TX 79702.” (Janice Miller)


“It is with deep sadness that I announce Dudley Moeller lost his courageous battle with cancer at 1:00 a.m. yesterday morning, September 22nd. We have lost a very good friend and a great person. Please keep his wife, Joanne, in your prayers.


Visitation will be Friday, September 26th, from 5:00 – 8:00 at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at Crowder’s. Interment will follow at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena.

“Greetings to All! Sue had her surgery and is in recovery. She gave us bit of a scare but the Doctors are optimistic that everything is ok. She will be sedated until tomorrow and then we start cardiac rehabilitation.

RESULTS and UPCOMINGS

“The first CASI cookoff that can be remembered in Baton Rouge, La was held at the Bass Pro Shop last Saturday. The big winner was Multiple Sclerosis with the cookoff making $3,200 for the Charity. Another winner was Chili Appreciation Society International, Inc as 9 new cooks joined CASI. They said they really enjoyed the purpose of the event, meeting new people and knowing they were helping others. The CASI Chili winner was Doris Zylks from Walker, La. Doris also placed 2nd in Showmanship and 3rd in Peoples Choice. She had only cooked one time before and that was in Lafayette, La this past May and she is now a CASI member!!!!!.” (Ken Rodd)

“Bring your knives and cutting boards to the judging area at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, and help us cut the veggies for the judging tables. The more who help, the quicker the job is accomplished. This is always a fun time and your assistance would be appreciated.” (Mavis Nelson)
