The central Texas wineries had a promotion on Saturday called Kielbasa & Kabernet. Our good friends and cookoff hosts at Becker Vineyards asked if we could make it “Kielbasa, Cabernet, and CASI.” What a fun opportunity! We gave out chili samples and sausage to hundreds of nice folks. We also displayed and promoted Mexene Chili Powder, Texas Men’s State, and the July 4, All-American Cookoff at Becker’s. There were quite a few visitors who expressed an interest in cooking or judging and we gave out chili recipes and directed people to cookoffs in all parts of Texas.

“Dear Friends and Family, I am just going to cut to the chase.... Sue Steinhauser will be having open heart surgery monday to repair the valves in her heart. She is extremely scared (as so am I) that things might not go well. For anyone who can, visitors are a welcome distraction. It helps her not think about the negative outcomes.

Phone calls would also be welcomed to help keep her mind occupied. the number here at South Austin Hospital is 512-334-8384..... Please continue to pray for her for her complete recovery, and also pray for the surgeons that will be guided by God's hand to heal her. Thanks to All and Be Blessed.” (rj steinhauser)

Happy Birthday to Jan Windrow. Happy Anniversary to Bill and Cheryl Pierson.

“It does not seem to be true that work necessarily needs to be unpleasant. It may always have to be hard, or at least harder than doing nothing at all. But there is ample evidence that work can be enjoyable, and that indeed, it is often the most enjoyable part of life.” - Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
