This is the last CHN until Monday. We’ll spend a long day on the road tomorrow, trying to get home before Ike pays a visit. Out thoughts are with all of our South Texas friends as they wait for bad weather. We’ll hope to hear everybody’s okay on Monday.

RESULTS and UPCOMINGS
“I just spoke with Trea Schmidt who is the organizer of the River Rat Cookoff scheduled for Saturday, September 13 in New Braunfels, Texas. Because of the possibility of flooding, high winds, etc. associated with the approaching Hurricane Ike, the cookoff has been canceled. It will, hopefully, be rescheduled and readvertised. We were all looking forward to it.” (Pat Irvine-King )
POTPOURRI
Happy Birthday to Herb Ross (90 years young) and Marcia Headrick. Also celebrating over the weekend are: Debby Cagle, Lillie Hackworth, Charmaine Rogers, Carol West, James Bauer, Jimmy Maturo, and Freddie Capers. Best wishes to all.
