NEWS

“Charmaine and I lost a very close friend Saturday. A friend of fourteen years. A friend that showed love and respect seven days a week. Mister Ace Cowboy, better known as just Ace, was put to sleep Saturday due to untreatable medical complications. Charmaine chose Ace from a litter of puppies that Happy Hinman brought to a cook of in Converse in 1994. I gave him the nickname ”knuckle head” for the silly things he would do. This is tough for the both of us because he was such a big part of our life’s, especially Charmaine`s. He made a lot of friends in the Chili world, be it two or four legged. We will always be thankful for the time we had with Mister Aces Cowboy, God Bless him.” (Clyde Rogers)

RESULTS and UPCOMINGS

“The Florida State Open Championship In Deland, Fl was a success this past Saturday. There was well over 2000 spectators, live music, arts & craft vendors, and a kid's zone with rides, face painting and crafts. 27 CASI cooks and 23 local open cooks competed for the day in the two categories. The event benefited West Volusia Historical Society. Ken Rodd for the first time in the 7 years of this event did not place in the top 10. So much for driving to Florida for easy points. I guess he's heading back to Texas chasing those points on his turf : )
