“My father-in-law and Frank's Dad, Delfino Guerra, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Oct 3rd. He had not been ill and spent a wonderful day with Frank's Mom on Thursday. He was 77.” (Kathryn Guzman)
RESULTS and UPCOMINGS
“We did it!! Our first chili cook-off of the New Year was a resounding success. With new cooks and show teams on board; Maryland is ready to become a 12 point state and challenges our bordering states to do the same!
It was a beautiful fall day in Beltsville, Maryland at Behnke Nurseries 1st EXTREME chili cook off. Behnke’s, recently featured on Extreme Makeover home edition, took that theme to a whole new level. With fantastic prizes for our juniors, SHOW, People’s Choice and Red cooks, no one went home empty handed. The crowds had never experienced a chili cook-off in this part of our state and are ready for more! Stay tuned for next years event, it will be even more EXTREME……
$851 was raised for our charity, the Beltsville Rotary Club. With out the help of everyone, especially our juniors, we would not have been able to pull this off. We welcomed 5 new enthusiastic chili heads to the Mason Dixon Pod who are looking forward to our next cook-off on 10/26 @ Boordy Vineyards. www.chili-mac.com
