“Chili Cook Off proceeds: $48,700

Even in these troublesome economic times, good things can happen when a community works together toward a greater good.

The organizing committee for the 13th Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off announced the total proceeds from the event of $48,700 have been donated to seven worthy local nonprofit organizations and two local citizens in severe medical need.

Representatives of The H.A.R.T. Center, The Guthrie Memorial Library and the Hanover Council of Churches were recently informed of their awards. All other recipients were notified of their donation by mail.

Planning for The 14th Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off, to be held on Sunday Sept. 6, 2009, will begin early next year.””
