“While I realize there are three worthy cookoffs in the DFW to choose from on Saturday, I would like to make a pitch for the 4th Annual Red Hillard CCO. This event is being held at the VFW in Lewisville at 997 E. Highway 121 Business (just north of Lewisville proper) and benefs the Veterans Relief Fund. For those who don't know them, this is the group you have seen perform show as the USO Show, lip-syncing to the oldies. They are truly a great group of fun people. We will have jackpot beans for a $5 entry with a noon turn in. CASI chili (grind only) is $18 with a 1:00 pm turn-in. Junior chili is free and has a 2:00 p.m. turn-in. There will be a 50/50 drawing and there is always a great raffle table. There are more details and directions (very easy to find) in the latest Trails.
