“Rocky Rockwell, the winner of our Hot Wings contest at TICC, has been invited to compete in the National Buffalo Wings Festival competition being held on August 30 th and 31st in Buffalo, NY (Home of the Buffalo Wings) This event is considered the "Super Bowl" of the "buffalo wing" contests throughout the USA. “Here is the list of CASI winners at the 1st Annual Pondarosa Resort CCO in Wills Point, TX on 08/16/2008. We had 19 CASI cooks, 4 Showmanship teams, and 5 Bean cooks. We raised a total of $973.00. After CASI fees, general expenses, and 50/50 payout, we will award $648.23 to benefit the Myrtle Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

“WOW, what a turn out we had for our 24th Annual Chili Cook-off in St. Thomas. A crowd of an estimated 6000 people ate 42 chili's, 14 veggies and enjoyed both large and small shows, games (you would have enjoyed the Hooters girls vs. the Coors Silver Bullet girls tug-of-war) and great music all day long. Our return to Brewer's Beach provided great parking but by land and by sea. Yup, we had folks paddling in off of yachts and pirate ships. And the results are:

“Need qualifying points? Well, there's a double hitter this weekend at the #151 Elks Lodge at 10150 W. Airport in Stafford, Texas. Friday night is a cookoff benefiting Handicap Children, an Elks Lodge Sweethearts charity, with the CASI turn-in at 8 p.m. - "CHILI GRIND ONLY" - $20 entry fee.Then Saturday is the 17th Annual Auxiliary 151 cookoff benefiting auxiliary charities. CASI chili is $20 with a 2 p.m. turn-in and is CHILI GRIND ONLY. The 50/50 Bean turn-in is at 1 p.m. and the entry is $10.RV's welcome - there are few hookups still available on a first come, first serve basis. Friday night is Lodge's Covered Dish Night for those who wish to participate along with Karaoke for your singing, listening and dancing pleasure. On Saturday, the Auxiliary will be serving Hot Dogs.
